Objective

Application of chemical recycling methods (depolymerisation) based on solvolysis processes to biodegradable plastics (e.g. PLA or PHAs), in order to obtain compounds (e.g. monomers, oligomers…) that can be subjected to a repolymerisation process to obtain short/medium-chain biodegradable polymers capable of being used in value-added applications, as well as to obtain other compounds (e.g. green solvents) with potential industrial applications.

  1. Theoretical study and analysis of the PLA and PHA depolymerisation process.
  2. Assembly and fine-tuning of equipment for depolymerisation.
  3. Chemical analysis of results
  4. Adjustments to the depolymerisation process
  5. Computational chemistry for the prediction of new polymer structures. Analysis.
  6. PHA polymerisation process.
  7. Communication and dissemination of the project
  8. Transfer and promotion of results
