Objective
The objective of MICROSENS is to develop an innovative system for the comprehensive and non-invasive assessment of the state of the intestinal microbiota, serving as a support tool for the personalisation of dietary guidelines and nutritional treatments aimed at improving health. Through the combination of advanced sensor technologies, analytical techniques, in vitro colonic fermentation models and predictive models based on artificial intelligence, the system will provide accurate information on the interaction between diet and intestinal microbiota, thereby facilitating the implementation of more effective nutritional strategies adapted to individual needs.
Activities
- Design and development of measurement devices based on advanced sensor technologies to measure compounds and metabolites related to the state of the intestinal microbiota through non-invasive analysis of gas (breath) and stool samples.
- Integration with complementary techniques to validate and enrich the data collected with the sensors, using in vitro colonic fermentation models and analytical techniques.
- Development of predictive models based on artificial intelligence algorithms, capable of processing and analysing the data measured with the measurement devices and relating them to the key biological parameters obtained with the in vitro models and analytical techniques.
- Technology transfer and promotion of results.
- Dissemination and communication.
