DISBIOSIS

Advanced experimental models to reproduce metabolic disorders associated with intestinal dysbiosis
1 May, 2024

Objective

The overall objective is to advance knowledge and technologies to model intestinal dysbiosis in vitro at different levels, in order to provide tools that make it possible to assess or design prevention and/or therapeutic strategies aimed at restoring microbiota balance and, consequently, recovering healthy functioning of the body’s physiological conditions. The scope of the project applies to companies in the nutraceutical, food, pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.

Activities

  1. Optimisation of the dynamic in vitro simulation of the state of dysbiosis
  2. Application of procedures and technologies to support therapies or treatments based on faecal microbiota transplantation
  3. Development of in vitro models of intestinal dysbiosis related to the Gut-Microbiota-Brain axis
  4. Technology transfer
  5. Management and coordination
  6. Dissemination and communication
