Obtaining added-value compounds
Achieving maximum benefit and greater market differentiation when developing a new ingredient
In view of the expected population growth and the limitation of natural resources, continuing with current linear business and consumption models leads to an unsustainable future. Evolving towards circular models in which the use of natural resources is maximised is essential.
Obtaining or generating added-value compounds is one of the ways of creating value for the company and bringing differentiation to the business.
At AINIA, we add value
- Obtaining market-differentiating compounds
- Valorisation of low-cost raw materials
- Technical and economic viability
- Sustainable solutions with low environmental impact
- Industrial production
Obtaining added-value compounds
We obtain and generate added-value compounds with applications in the food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical sectors, efficiently and sustainably.
Supercritical CO₂ extraction technology, as well as subcritical extraction, enables high-quality added-value compounds to be obtained, free from traces, in a way that is compatible with compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, GMP, required above all in the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. Essential oils, pigments, aromas and antioxidants are some examples.
Furthermore, biotechnology enables the generation of added-value compounds through the use of microorganisms and suitable culture conditions. Single Cell Proteins (SCP), building blocks, biomaterials, cosmetic ingredients and biofuels are some examples.
The generation of new biomass is an innovative way to produce compounds of interest from industrial waste or by-products. Through the cultivation of microalgae or duckweed, biomass is obtained from which compounds such as colourants, omega-3 fatty acids or polysaccharides can be extracted.
We provide final and industrial production solutions, always taking technical and economic viability into account.
