Materials for functional packaging
We design packaging solutions with the functionalities required to meet consumer demand. When analysing and designing the solution, different aspects are taken into account:
- Knowledge of the shortcomings of current packaging on the market
- Transformation of materials, product requirements, foods…, and their processing operations
- Analysis of processing operations and packaging behaviour when subjected to the stresses of use or distribution
- Legislation on food contact materials
- Current and filed patents
We work with suppliers of different types of materials and prototypes, which we use in our pilot plant to generate materials with different compositions. We reproduce situations with the prototypes, developing experimental plans to demonstrate their functionalities. In parallel, we test packaging materials and packaged products in our laboratories.
To complete the process, we carry out various consumer studies to validate the functionality and ergonomics of the different solutions developed.
