With the aim of boosting continuous advances in emission reduction technologies, this event will bring together researchers and professionals who provide solutions to the challenges faced by different productive sectors through technological solutions and knowledge generation, fostering synergies between public and private entities.
The conference “Climate Change Solutions: decarbonisation” will be held on 15 June from 9:30 at AINIA’s facilities in Paterna. AINIA Network member companies will be able to attend the event free of charge, as well as the innovation workshop.
The conference will conclude with an innovation workshop on technology transfer and collaboration in R&D projects, exclusively for member companies.
After registering for this conference, member companies will receive an e-mail with more information and a link to register for this workshop.
Places for the workshop are limited and allocated in order of registration.
Programme
9:30-10:00 Reception of attendees
10:00-10:15 Institutional opening
10:15-10:45 Opening presentation
10:45-11:45 Round table I: upcycling – decarbonisation of raw materials through the recovery of ingredients and materials from waste and wastewate
The Circular Economy enables interconnections between the use of resources and the waste generated, with the aim of minimising the consumption of external resources, the pollution of ecosystems that receive and provide resources, and the generation of waste, thereby improving the energy efficiency of industrial activities and optimising water management in order to ultimately minimise the environmental impact of activities. This round table will address the decarbonisation of industry through the recovery of valuable resources from wastewater and process water.
Speakers:
- Acesur, R&D Director, Melchor Martínez
- Heineken España, Sustainability and Corporate Relations, Consuelo Carmona
- Veolia España, Proposal Manager, Development and Major Projects, María Virginia Castro
- Moderator: Environmental Projects Manager, AINIA, Jorge García
11:45-12:15 Coffee break – networking
12:15-13:15 Round table II: bioenergy – decarbonisation of processes through the use of renewable energy sources, and particularly bioenergy generated from waste
Industrial energy production accounts for the largest percentage of the carbon footprint of production companies, which is driving the transformation of these processes within the context of ecological transition. During this session, industrial decarbonisation of energy sources will be addressed through the exchange of technological solutions applied by industry and with the participation of renowned experts and companies specialising in the field.
Speakers:
- Ruta Valenciana del Biogás – Generalitat Valenciana
- Genia Bioenergy, Director of Studies, Bernat Chuliá Peris
- SEDIGAS
- Moderator: Bioenergy and Biorefineries Manager, AINIA, Paz Gómez
13:15-14:15 Round table III: decarbonisation – product and packaging strategies: eco-design of products and packaging, and new management systems
Companies must develop increasingly environmentally sustainable processes and products. Decarbonisation through the reduction of natural resources is one of the strategies to be developed by companies. To this end, the eco-design of products and packaging, the use of by-products to generate new products or ingredients, and the proper management and valorisation of waste are necessary to contribute to decarbonisation.
