FLAVEAT

Food Law At Vocational Education and Training
10 August, 2023

Objective

The FLAVEaT project, as a driver of sustainable socio-economic development, aims to develop continuing vocational training programmes to raise awareness among professionals in the food sector. It also seeks to strengthen the skills of food sector professionals, turning them into critical agents of change in the promotion of specific EU Green Deal strategies, as well as in the exchange of best practices between partner countries.

Activities

  1. The skills will be mainly related to food law, food safety and emerging aspects in the food sector, such as food safety culture, food waste reduction, artificial intelligence (AI), 3D food printing, computer vision systems, etc., thereby contributing to the sustainable adaptation of food production. The food industry is one of the areas where AI can have an extraordinary impact on day-to-day operations, significantly transforming food companies.
  2. The use of computer vision systems enables automated and objective food inspection.
  3. The target professionals include food specialists, technologists, engineers, laboratory analysts, as well as graduates from universities and higher technical schools who are newcomers to the food sector.
