Objective
The general objective of the project is to continue innovating in the design of materials of natural and/or biotechnological origin, providing them with specific physicochemical characteristics that enable the formulation of control agents for implementation in agriculture. This initiative seeks to facilitate the transition towards the use of more effective and sustainable biopesticides and control agents, replacing conventional pesticides. To achieve this objective, the project will continue the comprehensive study of materials that can be used as carriers in sustained-release systems for agents with nematicidal action, such as siliceous materials, carbon-based materials (biochar) and hydrogels. The study of microbial biosurfactants and bio-based surfactants will also continue, as they will be used as functional additives in formulations aimed at controlling phytoparasitic nematodes in agricultural applications.
