Fostering the Advanced Use of Agrochemicals for a Sustainable Agriculture

Objective

AGRO4AGRI aims to offer innovative, safe and sustainable-by-design solutions for plant nutrition and protection, consisting of nano- and bio-based controlled-release fertilisers and biostimulants, and specific biopesticides based on RNAi technology, both designed to improve the efficiency of agrochemical use.

Activities

AGRO4AGRI includes R&D and validation phases, with the aim of minimising the long-term use of agrochemicals in agriculture by more than 50%, in line with the “farm to fork” strategy, among other EU initiatives.
Assessment of social, economic and safety impacts, as well as activities to foster engagement among society and policymakers in order to broaden the impacts, better meet EU objectives and position Europe at the forefront of the agrifood industry.
