Por ello, la industria est\u00e1 investigando diferentes ingredientes que puedan ser escalables a nivel industrial, uno de ellos son las ves\u00edculas extracelulares. Tras dos a\u00f1os de investigaci\u00f3n, os contamos los retos y las perspectivas futuras de este compuesto como ingrediente funcional en la industria cosm\u00e9tica.\n<h3>Ves\u00edculas extracelulares en cosm\u00e9tica: Actualidad, retos y perspectivas futuras<\/h3>\nEn anteriores ocasiones hemos expuesto los diferentes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ainia.com\/ainia-news\/empresas-alimentacion-cosmetica-vesiculas-extracelulares\/\">retos y avances que rodean al campo de las ves\u00edculas extracelulares (VEs) en diferentes sectores industriales<\/a>, desde la alimentaci\u00f3n funcional hasta el cosm\u00e9tico, mencionando por supuesto el sector farmac\u00e9utico.\n\nDado su gran potencial como ingrediente funcional, desde AINIA hemos trabajado durante m\u00e1s de dos a\u00f1os en sendos proyectos IVACE-FEDER (FIVEX I y FIVEX 2) tratando de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ainia.com\/ainia-news\/retos-vesiculas-extracelulares-ingredientes-funcionales\/\">dise\u00f1ar metodolog\u00edas para la obtenci\u00f3n de ves\u00edculas extracelulares<\/a>, analizando su potencial funcionalidad, y explorando su adecuaci\u00f3n y escalado a procesos a nivel industrial.\n\nActualmente, las fuentes de obtenci\u00f3n de VEs son diversas, as\u00ed como las metodolog\u00edas para su obtenci\u00f3n. Sin embargo, <strong>no todos los m\u00e9todos de purificaci\u00f3n permiten realizar un escalado a nivel industrial, dificultando en gran medida su implementaci\u00f3n como ingrediente funcional<\/strong>, quedando limitado su uso en aplicaciones que precisan escasa cantidad o en el contexto de la investigaci\u00f3n b\u00e1sica o cl\u00ednica.\n<h3>Desarrollo de una metodolog\u00eda de aislamiento escalable<\/h3>\nEn este sentido, uno de los resultados principales de los proyectos FIVEX fue el <strong>desarrollo de una metodolog\u00eda de aislamiento escalable, basada en la cromatograf\u00eda de intercambio ani\u00f3nico, la cual puede adecuarse a diferentes fuentes de obtenci\u00f3n, como organismos probi\u00f3ticos, c\u00e9lulas y extractos vegetales y c\u00e9lulas de mam\u00edfero<\/strong>.\n\nAdem\u00e1s, se valid\u00f3 que las VEs obtenidas ten\u00edan efecto funcional, ensayando su efecto en sistemas de cultivo <em>in vitro<\/em>, observando efectos diversos como inmunomodulador, antioxidante, e incluso efecto blanqueante sobre melanocitos inducidos (Resultados publicados en congreso internacional de ves\u00edculas extracelulares ISEV 2021 y 2022).\n<ul>\n \t<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ainia.com\/ainia-news\/avances-vesiculas-extracelulares-ingrediente-funcional-isev\/\">Congreso Internacional- ISEV2021: Avances en la utilizaci\u00f3n de las ves\u00edculas extracelulares como un ingrediente funcional<\/a><\/li>\n \t<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ainia.com\/ainia-news\/investigacion-vesiculas-extracelulares\/\">Congreso Internacional \u0096 ISEV2022: \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 sigue creciendo la investigaci\u00f3n en torno a las ves\u00edculas extracelulares? <\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\nDados estos efectos testados <em>in vitro<\/em> es l\u00f3gico pensar que las VEs ser\u00edan un ingrediente m\u00e1s que interesante en el sector cosm\u00e9tico, dado que la naturaleza lip\u00eddica de las VEs las har\u00eda f\u00e1cilmente absorbibles por la piel, pudiendo generar efectos incluso en capas m\u00e1s profundas. Sin embargo, a pesar del efecto funcional diverso y prometedor, <strong>la adecuaci\u00f3n para su implementaci\u00f3n como ingrediente en diferentes formulaciones contin\u00faa siendo un reto para la biotecnolog\u00eda y, en concreto, para la industria cosm\u00e9tica<\/strong>, donde solo un pu\u00f1ado de formulaciones indican en su etiquetado la presencia de VEs.\n\nEs por eso que, desde AINIA, en el marco del proyecto FIVEX 2, tambi\u00e9n se apost\u00f3 por la exploraci\u00f3n de diferentes <strong>procesos de conservaci\u00f3n<\/strong>, para garantizar su integridad a lo largo del tiempo, as\u00ed como su efecto funcional, observando que los <strong>procesos basados en la liofilizaci\u00f3n mantienen de manera m\u00e1s eficaz la integridad de las VEs<\/strong>.\n<h3><strong>Optimizaci\u00f3n de un sistema productivo de c\u00e9lulas de mam\u00edfero para grandes vol\u00famenes<\/strong><\/h3>\nOtro de los retos abordados en el proyecto FIVEX 2 fue la <strong>optimizaci\u00f3n de un sistema productivo de c\u00e9lulas de mam\u00edfero para grandes vol\u00famenes.<\/strong> <strong>En este sentido, la industria precisa de ingredientes que puedan producirse en batch, en cantidades y rendimientos razonables para que el proceso sea viable t\u00e9cnico-econ\u00f3micamente.<\/strong>\n\nEn el marco del proyecto FIVEX 2 <strong>se ha avanzado en el cultivo de c\u00e9lulas hep\u00e1ticas adherentes en biorreactor con la finalidad de incrementar el volumen total de c\u00e9lulas y por ende el de VEs producidas por las mismas.<\/strong> De esta manera, se optimizan las fuentes de obtenci\u00f3n, agilizando los procesos de cultivo y generaci\u00f3n de VEs de inter\u00e9s. Adem\u00e1s, se ha evaluado que las VEs obtenidas en tales condiciones no perd\u00edan funcionalidad inmunomoduladora comparadas con las obtenidas en sistemas <em>in vitro<\/em> convencionales.\n\nDe la misma manera, para las VEs obtenidas de microorganismos probi\u00f3ticos, se ha estudiado qu\u00e9 factores y variables aleatorias durante el crecimiento del microorganismo ten\u00edan influencia sobre la biog\u00e9nesis de VEs, ya que las investigaciones sobre VEs en microorganismos probi\u00f3ticos contin\u00faa siendo escasa. En este sentido, se observ\u00f3 que determinadas variables influyen en el n\u00famero total VEs, pero de manera m\u00e1s considerable, influyen en el tipo de VEs producidas, pudiendo optimizar de esta manera un proceso de crecimiento de microorganismos que potencie la biog\u00e9nesis de VEs.\n\nEn resumen, tras estos dos a\u00f1os de investigaci\u00f3n se han explorado numerosas alternativas y procesos para acercar el empleo de VEs a la industria cosm\u00e9tica, aportando recursos y soluciones que pueden sentar las bases del empleo de VEs como ingrediente funcional en la industria.
