Se estima que el 45% de la producci\u00f3n de frutas y verduras se pierde por defectos de calidad o podredumbre. En el caso de los c\u00edtricos, <em>Penicillium digitatum <\/em>causa la podredumbre verde y este pat\u00f3geno constituye uno de los m\u00e1s importantes durante la postcosecha, llegando a causar hasta el 80% de las podredumbres.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Por otro lado, <em>Galactomyces citri-aurantii <\/em>(anteriormente conocido como <em>Geotrichum candidum<\/em>) causa la podredumbre \u00e1cida, la enfermedad de postcosecha de c\u00edtricos m\u00e1s importante despu\u00e9s de las podredumbres verdes y azul, especialmente en campa\u00f1as lluviosas. En la actualidad, hay muy pocos fungicidas registrados que sean eficaces frente a <em>G. citri-aurantii <\/em>especialmente tras la retirada del mercado de la guazatina en 2011 y el propiconazol en 2019. Para ambos hongos, el tratamiento tradicional de control ha sido a base de fungicidas sint\u00e9ticos, aunque estos tienen repercusiones negativas en salud humana y en el medio ambiente, y cada vez hay m\u00e1s cepas resistentes a los principales fungicidas empleados.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Adem\u00e1s de los problemas asociados al uso de fungicidas sint\u00e9ticos, cada vez hay una mayor demanda por parte de los consumidores de alimentos m\u00ednimamente tratados con productos qu\u00edmicos de s\u00edntesis (por ejemplo, herbicidas, insecticidas o fungicidas) que supongan un riesgo para su salud o para el medio ambiente. Esta demanda est\u00e1 llevando a cada vez m\u00e1s disposiciones legales que limitan o restringen el uso de tales productos qu\u00edmicos. De hecho, la estrategia de la Uni\u00f3n Europea \u0091Farm to fork\u0092, dentro del Pacto Verde Europeo, tiene como objetivo reducir en un 50% el uso de plaguicidas qu\u00edmicos en el 2030, as\u00ed como aumentar la producci\u00f3n ecol\u00f3gica hasta alcanzar un 25% de la producci\u00f3n total. Adem\u00e1s, esta estrategia tambi\u00e9n pretende reducir el desperdicio alimentario en un 50% en toda la Uni\u00f3n Europea antes del 2030.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En este contexto surge el proyecto POSTHARVESTLIFE, financiado mediante la Agencia Valenciana de la Innovaci\u00f3n en el marco de los Proyectos Estrat\u00e9gicos Colaborativos, y con la colaboraci\u00f3n del Instituto de Agroqu\u00edmica y Tecnolog\u00eda de los Alimentos (IATA-CSIC),\u00a0 AINIA,\u00a0 Darwin Bioprospecting y FRUTINTER, se desarrollar\u00e1n <strong>nuevas estrategias de biocontrol <\/strong>contra <em>Penicillium digitatum<\/em> y <em>Galactomyces citri-aurantii. <\/em>Estas innovadoras estrategias se basar\u00e1n en la utilizaci\u00f3n de determinados microorganismos, aislados de la propia microbiota de los c\u00edtricos, que poseen la capacidad \u00fanica de inhibir el crecimiento de estos hongos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La actividad fungicida de centenares de cepas ser\u00e1 cribada <em>in vitro <\/em>y <em>ex vivo\u00b8<\/em> y las m\u00e1s prometedoras ser\u00e1n testadas y validadas <em>in vivo. <\/em>Adem\u00e1s, para que estos microrganismos sean eficaces y permitan sustituir a los actuales fungicidas qu\u00edmicos, se optimizar\u00e1 su actividad fungicida y se estabilizar\u00e1n de manera apropiada, manteniendo su viabilidad mediante t\u00e9cnicas de microencapsulaci\u00f3n que aseguren y prolonguen su presencia en el tiempo.<\/p>\n<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-166910 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/ainia.endesarrollo.pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/Imagen2-1-1024x767-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"767\" \/>\n\n&nbsp;\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Como resultado de la ejecuci\u00f3n de POSTHARVESTLIFE dispondremos de un nuevo <strong>sistema de control integrado que sustituya a los actuales fungicidas qu\u00edmicos <\/strong>durante la postcosecha de c\u00edtricos.
