Se basa en la combusti\u00f3n catal\u00edtica de la muestra, la captura de los gases de mercurio por una amalgama y posterior determinaci\u00f3n de mercurio.\u00a0 Este sofisticado equipo permite llegar a detectar niveles muy bajos, del orden de 5 ppb (partes por bill\u00f3n).\n\nPara poder hacernos una idea de que supone llegar a estos l\u00edmites de detecci\u00f3n, nos puede servir la imagen de que ser\u00eda lo mismo detectar niveles de 5ppb, que encontrar (o detectar) un grano de arroz en 6.000 Kg, o lo que es equivalente, encontrar un grano de arroz perdido entre 6.000 paquetes normales (de 1 Kg.).\n\nAdem\u00e1s de mercurio, realizamos controles anal\u00edticos de otros metales pesados como cadmio, plomo y cobre en diferentes tipos de alimentos.
